Deliciously textured and densely flavored, this wine has white and citrus fruits that have a chalky, mineral edge from the flint soil. With its concentration and richness, the wine could age a little longer, so drink from 2022. Organic.

The product of a wild ferment from an organic estate, the 2020 Sancerre Le Rochoy Terroir de Silex is classic "cat pee on a gooseberry bush" (or boxwood, if you like) on the nose and on the palate. There's an ease to this wine: it's fluid and gentle, with a little texture on the mid-palate built through five months on fine lees. The finish is satisfying and freshly balanced albeit medium-length at best. Ripe for drinking now.
