Villa S. Anna Rosso di Montepulciano 2014Food Pairings: First and second courses of the Tuscan cuisine, seasoned cheeses.
Montinore Reserve Pinot Noir 2015A blend of fruits, herbs and spice offer the aromatic prelude, revealing scents of Italian plum, cherry cordial, fresh tobacco leaf, cedar and sage. A silky-smooth palate yields an abundance of wild Oregon berries, red plum, hints of leather and warm baking spice. Balanced interplay between tannin and acid provides a polished, satisfying finish.
Chateau Musar Jeune Rouge 2016
Château Mourgues du Grès Costières de Nimes Les Galets Rouges 2017The wine-making process is traditional: after a maceration period of 8 – 15 days, the wine is matured for 7 to 12 months in epoxy lined concrete tanks in order to best preserve its natural fruitiness. Deep ruby with purple hues; aromas of cherry, blackberry, and soft spices lingering through the finish. Full-bodied with a good acidity and character. Tannins are persistent, yet smooth. This wine matches perfectly with Italian or Mediterranean cuisine such as pasta dishes, pizza or grilled lamb, but also stands up to tasty meat such as barbecue ribs or duck breast.
Mora & Memo MORA & MEMO VERMENTINO di Sardegna 750ML 2017Mora&Memo vineyards are located in the south-eastern corner of Sardinia, a rolling hill area surrounded by the Sette Fratelli peaks, the tallest mountains of the south of the island. It is an area of strong winegrowing vocation, where the white limestone soil is punctuated by the green of the vines and the olive trees together with the Mediterranean flora. Intense and persistent bouquet with floral and herbal aromas, rosemary, thyme and sage. On the palette, citrus, bright green apple, almond, and sea spray interplay together to a nice dry mineral finish. Perfect for fish with delicate flesh seasoned with light sauces, oysters, clams, and grilled light meats that highlight green and herbal flavors.
Domaine du Moulin Cuvee Reserve Rouge 2016Plots on both banks of the Tarn. Gravel on the left bank and argilocalcaire on the right bank. Both grapes are vinified separately and then assembled after tasting before bottling. We carry out a short maceration on the Duras and Syrah grapes to favor the extraction of the aromas of these two grape varieties.
Leone de Castris Salice Salentino Maiana 2017The Leone de Castris family has been making wines in Salice Salentino from over three centuries, a small village in the region of Puglia. Intense deep red color with purple hues. The nose is fruity, revealing aromas of plum, black fruit, and blackberry jam, with a pleasantly spicy sensation of vanilla, tea, and amber. On the palate it is rich and full-bodied, with smooth, integrated tannin's . Suggested food pairing: Ideal with grilled meats, baked pasta dishes, pasta with hearty sauce, and strong cheeses.
Château-Talbot ST JULIEN 2015
Brovia Barbera d'Alba Ciabot del Fi 2015Nose shows a bit of wood influence still, not clean yet, will be racked. With air graphite and balsamic aromas emerge along with a little hazelnut nuttiness on nose. Already has a lovely texture with less power and fruity fat than the regular Barbera. There's more floral character and a tauter nature to the wine, lovely layered clay notes on the palate, leaves the palate clean and fresh with some mineral notes on the finish. This is what super Barbera should be, such snap on the finish, not fair to score out of barrel but seemingly better than the base. Showing incipient balsamic and India ink flavors with fine sweet/tart balance and persistence to the notably fresh fruit flavors.
Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco 2015Full body vintage, ripe red fruit and spicy flavours wiith a balanced tanninc finish. Food Pairing: Fresh pasta, meat dishes, particularly lamb and feathered game, mild cheeses.
Giacomo Borgogno Barolo 2012The Barolo Classic Borgogno is made by the combination of the grapes coming from five of the most prestigious vineyards of the Barolo area: Cannubi, Cannubi San Lorenzo, Fossati, Liste, San Pietro delle Viole. This is not just a Barolo, it is much more. It fully reflects the elegance and the power of a real Barolo from the Village of Barolo.
Brovia Barolo Unio 2014Evaluating the 2014 Barolo "Unio" blind, one would be hard-pressed to declare it from anything less than a stellar vintage. Brovia's late-round strategy of assembling one great wine paid off enormously, and the end result is not just good, it is shockingly gorgeous. The nose soars, laden with the beautiful, complex, almost philosophical spice of great Nebbiolo, and anchored by dark, savory fruits. "Unio" is a densely-boned fighter whose musculature makes up in definition what it lacks in size. The vintage's lightness is felt not in any sense of dilution but in a sense of mesmerizing clarity the kind of clear-eyed freshness that the heft of riper vintages sometimes masks. In the absence of excess flesh, the wine's profound minerality is positively arresting, reading as chiseled and foundational rather than as an undertone or a grace note. Furthermore, the family's remarkable feel for well-judged extraction is on full display here, as the tannins are as perfect as could be imagined neither coerced past their natural potential nor buffed into insignificance. They are downright sexy tannins, in fact the lower-lip bite at the end of a kiss that manages to be both tender and suggestive.
Ferrando Carema Etichetta Bianca 2011The Carema of Ferrando reveals the most elegant and delicate and complex characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape with a surprising capacity to age. We have witnessed this wine at thirty-plus years of age displaying vibrant, seductive qualities that are simply astonishing. Color: Intense garnet red, limpid and dense. Nose: Spicy, fruity notes. Fine hints of dried flowers and rose petals. Palate: Warm, tannic mouthfeel. Well-integrated spicy notes.
Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato 2012The Mauro Mascarello family MONPRIVATO vineyard is located in the village of Castiglione Falletto, and is a classic prime medium-hillside site stretching over six hectares (15 acres) at 280 metres above sea level, in the heart of the Barolo wine-growing area. It is historic vineyard, as is confirmed by old land registry archives dating back to 1666. The soils of Monprivato, coupled with the haunting refinement found in Nebbiolo Michét, produce one of the most compellingly complex and elegant interpretations of Barolo to be found. With bottle age Monprivato produces a beautiful, red fruity, truffley and soil-driven Barolo, redolent also of autumnal notes and roses. For four generations the winemaking style of the Mascarellos has followed a traditional approach that allows for the brilliant underlying terroir of all of their wines, and Monprivato in particular, to take center stage.
