NV17 Cain Cuvée is quite simply the best Cain Cuvée to have come from our cellars. This wine belies our principles for Cain Cuvee: here is a wine that, although you can take seriously, you don't have to. Our Cain Cuvée is simply intended for enjoyment without pretense, and should offer just enough eccentricities to be interesting. However, the NV17 sits quietly and calmly, right on the center of its pedestal, perfectly balanced, with perfect aplomb-seamless, refined, flowing and refreshing. Yes, you can take it seriously. It is beautiful. In the NV17, the Cain Vineyard dominates, contributing two-thirds of the total, split evenly between the two vintages. Once again, the NV17 illustrates perfectly the way in which two vintages blended together can complement one another. 2016 was a relatively cool year that gave us some lovely, light, perfumed wines, perfect for Cain Cuvée, while, at the outset, the 2017 harvest promised to deliver firm, deeply structured complex wines-the ideal complement to the more delicate 2016s. With this combination, you'll easily find the signature of the Cain Vineyard, with its bright floral and herbal aromatics.
