The nose is both roses and fruits, flowers abound. It has something sensual and spring-like, it caresses the nose! The caress continues in the mouth: a frame of superfine tannins delicately melt on the palate, spreading petals and red fruits. However, the wine also has consistency and length, and its terroir carries it far. This wine is a well-rooted seducer.

The 2020 Mercurey Sazenay 1er Cru comes from vines replanted in 1998 with a massale selection with one-third of the old vines maintained. Strawberry and raspberry preserve on the nose, though not jammy, the palate is well balanced with a little more backbone than the Les Saumonts, through I prefer the joie-de-vivre on its fellow Mercurey.
