Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy. This particular vintage is described by critics as a "king of the cellar," noted for its intense minerality and vibrant energy. The "Les Véroilles" vineyard sits immediately above the Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares. While much of the vineyard is village-level, Barthod's specific 0.37-hectare sliver was promoted to Premier Cru status in 1987. It is considered a relatively cold site, which contributes to the wine's characteristic tension and spice.
Aromas: The bouquet is focused and beguiling, offering notes of dark cherry, raspberry, tea leaf, rose petals, and wet stones.
