(2016 Vintage)

Widely considered an "overachiever" from a standout Bordeaux vintage. This wine is noted for its higher-than-usual percentage of Merlot, which thrives in the clay-rich soils of the Saint-Estèphe region.

Aromas: Explosive notes of crushed raspberry, black cherry, and blackberry, accented by floral hints of rose petals and spring flowers.

Palate: A full-bodied and dense texture with velvety tannins. It features layers of blackcurrant, dark cocoa, and a touch of eucalyptus or menthol.

Finish: A long, energetic finish with a characteristic chalky minerality typical of the estate's limestone soils.

Château Lilian Ladouys Description

Aging: Matured for approximately 15 months in French oak barrels, with 30% being new oak.

Classic Meat Pairings: Traditional Bordeaux pairings focus on robust red meats that balance the wine's structured tannins.

Roast Leg of Lamb: A quintessential match; the wine's acidity cuts through the meat's richness, especially when seasoned with garlic and rosemary.
Grilled Ribeye Steak: The dark fruit and graphite notes of the 2016 vintage complement the char and fat of a ribeye.
Duck Confit: This Southwest France specialty pairs beautifully with the wine’s savory, spiced undertones.
Game Meats: Heartier options like venison or wild boar work well with the "irony" and forest fruit profile of this specific vintage.
