A world-class, ultra-sweet dessert Sherry from the Solera Familiar range of Bodegas Lustau in Jerez, Spain.
Style & Taste: This is a "sticky," full-bodied wine with extreme viscosity. It features intense, concentrated flavors of dried figs, raisins, dates, and molasses, often described as "raisin pudding" or "black treacle".
Visuals: Deep ebony or mahogany in color, often showing an iodine or olive-green rim.
Production: Made from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes that are sun-dried (the soleo process) until they become raisins before fermentation. It is aged for an average of 12 years in a traditional solera system.
