2022 vintage of the iconic "Super Tuscan" from Bolgheri, Italy. Despite a hot and dry growing season, the wine is noted for its remarkable freshness, elegance, and lower-than-expected alcohol content.
Aromas: A complex bouquet of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and plums, layered with notes of rosemary, lavender, tobacco leaf, and graphite.
Palate: Medium-to-full bodied with a "streamlined" mouthfeel. It features vibrant acidity and firm, polished tannins that frame flavors of dark fruit, cedar, and Mediterranean herbs.
Finish: Long and persistent with a saline, mineral depth and hints of sweet spice.
Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. (Some sources report slight variations, such as 88% and 12%).
Aging: Matured for 24 months in French oak barrels (approximately one-third new) before additional refinement in the bottle.
Alcohol Content: 13.5%.
