A red wine made from 100% Gamay grapes sourced from "Vignes Centenaires" (centenarian vines) between 100 and 120 years old. It is widely considered one of the best values in the Beaujolais region, offering the concentration of a Cru-level wine at a more accessible price point. Traditional semi-carbonic maceration in concrete vats using native yeasts, with minimal sulfur added. Grown on dark granitic soil in Saint-Vérand, which contributes to its deep mineral character.
Aromas: The nose opens with intense notes of red and black cherries, stewed berries, and floral hints of peony and carnation. Subtle accents of vine smoke, baking spices, and a touch of white pepper add complexity.
Palate: It is medium-to-full-bodied with a velvety, fleshy texture. You can expect a concentrated "coulis" of red and black fruits with ripe acidity that keeps the profile vibrant and fresh.
This wine pairs excellently with charcuterie, roasted poultry (like Bresse chicken), veal, or a firm Comté cheese.
