An organic red wine from the Les Baux-de-Provence appellation in Provence, France. Produced by the Cartier family, who have practiced organic farming since the 1970s, it is known for its "garrigue" character—herbal notes of rosemary, thyme, and lavender that grow naturally around the vineyards.
Grape Blend: Most vintages are a Southern Rhône blend featuring Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carignan.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of black fruits (plum, blackberry), dark roses, and peppery spice, with a palate of spiced cherries, chocolate, and earthy minerals.
Distinctive Bottle: It is famously bottled in a squat, rustic "Normandy" or Calvados-style bottle, a tradition preserved by the estate since the 1950s.
