Widely regarded by critics as a standout from a challenging, low-yield Burgundy vintage marked by severe spring frosts. It is described as a "victory" for the estate, offering more density and substance than other 2021 crus while maintaining the hallmark elegance of Volnay. Archetypal "Champans"—offering more power and generosity than other Volnay 1er crus like Taillepieds, but with a refined, "crystal clear" brightness typical of the 2021 vintage.
Aromas: An expressive bouquet of raspberries, dark cherries, and blackberry. Complex secondary notes include orange zest, Indian spices, rose petals, and crushed stone.
Palate: Medium-bodied and supple with a fleshy mid-palate. It is noted for its "melting tannins," mouthwatering finish, and a "seductive" confit character.
