Widely considered a benchmark expression of the vintage, noted for its unusual power and density for a Volnay. Critics describe it as "regal" and "monumental," featuring a more muscular structure than other d'Angerville cuvées like the Taillepieds in this particular year. Sourced from approximately 4 hectares in the center of the Volnay Premier Crus, where soils transition from rocky limestone to deeper clay.
Nose: Intense aromas of dark fruit (blackberry, dark cherry), orange peel, raw cocoa, and forest floor.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a silky texture and "quasi-chalky" tannins. It balances high acidity with impressive concentration and a long, dry finish.
