A traditional Rioja Crianza that significantly exceeds standard aging requirements for its category. Despite being labeled a Crianza, it is aged for three years in American oak followed by several more years in the bottle, often meeting the technical requirements of a Gran Reserva.
Nose: Fresh and developed with notes of licorice, red cherry, dried strawberry, and plum, layered with traditional secondary aromas of leather, tobacco, cedar, and light balsamic.
Palate: Medium-bodied with high, electric acidity and fine, resolved tannins. Critics note a savory character with hints of damp earth, mushrooms, and warm spices.
Finish: Smooth, fresh, and persistent.
Variety: A blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 5% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo.
Aging: 3 years in used American oak barrels, racked twice annually, and fined with fresh egg whites.
Food Pairings: Complements all meat dishes, particularly roasted lamb, charcuterie, tapas, and mushroom-based preparations.
