Highly-regarded second wine of Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, a Fifth Growth estate in Pauillac, Bordeaux. Critics widely consider this vintage to be one of the best for the label, characterized by its "upfront fruit," silky tannins, and unexpected intensity for a Bordeaux second wine.
Aroma: Expressive notes of cassis, black cherry, and violets, alongside more complex hints of charcoal, cedar, and tobacco leaf.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a "supple and juicy" core of dark fruit. It is noted for its "silky, compact" texture and vibrant acidity that balances the richness of the 2022 vintage.
Finish: Long and mineral-laced, featuring a "lingering, juicy finish" with classic Médoc freshness.
Blend Composition: Primarily 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc.
Aging: Typically aged for 14–16 months in French oak barrels, with roughly 45–50% being new oak.
