Highly regarded white Burgundy produced from Chardonnay vines with an average age of 35 years. This particular vineyard sits on a hillside northeast of the village with east-southeast exposure, which helps produce a wine noted for its precision and firm minerality. The wine undergoes 12 months of aging (élevage) in oak barrels, with approximately 25% new oak used to add subtle depth without overpowering the fruit.
Aroma: The nose is described as pretty and elegant, featuring notes of sliced pear, apple, and citrus (lemon-lime) alongside delicate floral hints of acacia blossom.
Palate: It is a medium-bodied wine with a taut, precise structure and a "crystalline" quality. Critics note an attractive interplay between a restrained creaminess on the mid-palate and a crisp, mineral-inflected finish.
