A highly-rated, classically styled Chardonnay from the Burgundy region of France. Produced by winemaker Didier Picq in the village of Chichée, this wine is known for its purity and terroir expression. It is crafted entirely using tank-fermentation and maturation to avoid dominant oak flavors, prioritizing a vibrant, mineral-driven profile.
Aroma: Intense aromas of green apple, white peach, citrus, and crushed oyster shells.
Palate: Clean, linear entry with crisp, driving acidity and mid-palate concentration.
Flavor Notes: Ripe orchard fruits balanced by striking flint, saline, and chalky textures.
Finish: Long, persistent, and refreshing with an elegant, savory snap.
Location: The Vaucoupin premier cru is situated on the east side (right bank) of the Serein River.
Terrain: The Picq family parcel sits on a steep, 45-degree slope that faces south.
Management: Because of the extreme incline, the vineyard must be fully tended and harvested by hand.
Soil: Kimmeridgian limestone mixed with clay imparts a signature, intense marine minerality
