An exceptionally high-regarded red wine from Piedmont, Italy, often described by critics as "Barolo in all but name". It is produced from a small parcel of the prestigious Arione vineyard that sits just outside the official Barolo production boundaries.
Aromatics: Expect a seductive bouquet of ripe red cherry, freshly bloomed roses, blood orange, and mint, with deeper nuances of licorice, balsamic, and white pepper.
Palate: The wine is medium-bodied with high acidity and fine-grained, structured tannins, and showing a distinct minerality that persists on the finish.
Ready to Drink: While approachable now with decanting, this vintage is "tightly wound" and built for longevity. Experts suggest a prime drinking window between 2027 and 2040.
Decanting: If opening now, a decant of 1 to 3 hours is recommended to allow the perfume to emerge and the tannins to mellow.
