A highly regarded sparkling wine from the Bugey region of eastern France, produced using the traditional method (méthode champenoise). It is distinct for its focus on local Savoie grape varieties rather than just Chardonnay.
Aromas: Complex scents of crisp green apple, white flowers, citrus peel, alpine herbs, and a hint of creamy vanilla or brioche.
Palate: Brisk and precise with lively acidity. Expect flavors of lemon zest, pear, and underripe apricot, followed by a clean, mineral-driven finish.
Body: Medium-bodied with a delicate, persistent effervescence.
Grape Blend: Typically 40% Altesse, 30% Mondeuse, and 30% Chardonnay.
Production: Made with secondary fermentation in the bottle and aged on lees for 12–24 months.
Vintage Style: While often labeled as Non-Vintage (NV), it is typically a single-vintage wine released without a date on the main label.
Soil & Terroir: Grapes are grown on steep, 50% incline slopes with Jurassic limestone soils.
