A 100% Carignan red wine from the Vaucluse region in the Southern Rhône, France. Created by Gilles Gasq, this wine is noted for being a varietal bottling in a region where Carignan is typically used only for blending. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel or concrete tanks. The wine is aged on fine lees for nearly a year and bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur.
Nose: Aromas of red fruit (raspberry, cranberry), black fruit (black raspberry, plum), and earthy undertones like truffle or leather.
Palate: A medium-bodied, savory profile with vibrant acidity and fine tannins. Expect flavors of dark berries, dried herbs (garrigue), subtle pepper, and baking spices.
Finish: Smooth and supple with an earthy freshness.
