The second wine of the prestigious Château Rieussec, a Premier Grand Cru Classé estate in Sauternes. Produced by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), it offers a more approachable and earlier-drinking expression of the estate’s terroir compared to the Grand Vin.
Tasting Profile: Expect a pale gold wine with intense aromas of citrus zest, honey, apricot, and orange marmalade. On the palate, it is rich and rounded, balanced by a vibrant acidity and fresh notes of pineapple and pear.
Winemaking: The wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels for approximately 12 months, which adds complexity and a subtly toasted finish.
Blend & Alcohol: Predominantly Sémillon (84%), with Sauvignon Blanc (12%) and Muscadelle (4%).
Food Pairings: Pairs exceptionally well with blue cheeses (like Roquefort), foie gras, or fruit-based desserts such as lemon tart or peach cobbler.
