Highly-regarded first-growth Pauillac that is widely considered one of the standout wines of its vintage. It is particularly noted as the vintage that established winemaker Philippe Dhalluin after he succeeded in making a great wine in a challenging year.
Nose: Complex aromas of blackberry, cassis, and bilberry, layered with notes of graphite, cedarwood, tobacco, and a hint of mocha.
Palate: Full-bodied and powerful with a silky, creamy texture. It features fine-grained, firm tannins and well-judged acidity that leads into a persistent, elegant finish.
Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot. No Cabernet Franc was used in this vintage.
Aging: Matured for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels.
