A highly regarded French brandy. Armagnac producers frequently hand-stamp or print exact bottling dates (such as 03-23-2026) on the back labels of individual batches because spirits stop aging once they leave the oak barrel and enter the glass.
Aroma: Complex nose featuring almond paste, slivered almonds, concord grapes, lavender, and powdered sugar.
Palate: A supple, elegant texture balancing rich notes of toffee, chocolate, dark licorice, and toasted oak with a sharp pop of white pepper.
Finish: Clean and snappy with hints of fresh mint and caramelized cinnamon-raisin bread
Age Designation: Hors d'Age ("Beyond Age"), which legally requires a minimum of 10 years of wood aging, though Château de Briat typically ages this specific blend for 12 to 15 years before bottling.
Grape Blend: Typically composed of 75% Bacco, 15% Folle Blanche, and 10% Colombard.
