A crisp, terroir-driven French white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Produced by Domaine Catherine & Michel Langlois in the Upper Loire Valley, it offers a high-quality, budget-friendly alternative to its famous neighboring appellations, Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé.
Aroma: Pungent and aromatic, leading with notes of white flowers, fresh-cut grass, grapefruit, and green apple.
Palate: Vibrant, fresh, and moderately textured. It delivers flavors of zesty lime, nectarine, and green peach, balanced by a distinct salty, flinty, and stony minerality.
Finish: Crisp and clean, featuring a racy, refreshing acidity that cuts through the fruit profile.
Terroir: Cultivated on 25-year-old vines facing south/southwest, rooted in distinctive Kimmeridgian marl, clay, and chalky limestone soils.
Vinification: According to the technical details provided by Domaine Langlois, the wine undergoes gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 16°C, and is aged for 6 months on fine lees to build texture.
Food Pairings: Because of its high acidity and clean profile, this wine makes an excellent standalone aperitif. It pairs exceptionally well with:
Local Loire Valley goat cheeses, such as Crottin de Chavignol
Seafood dishes like citrus-marinated prawns or salmon terrine
Roasted white meats, particularly spiced poultry like roasted guinea fow
