A classic, traditionally styled red wine from Tuscany, Italy, that has received early acclaim for its elegance and cellar potential. Released in early 2025, the 2020 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino was the final year to receive a "5-star" rating from the local Consorzio before they moved to a verbal description system.
Aromas: Intense and persistent bouquet with "ethereal" notes. Expect typical Sangiovese characteristics such as red cherry, berry, and hints of Tuscan herbs.
Palate: Dry, harmonious, and elegant with polished tannins. The 2020 vintage generally shows more freshness and fruit brightness compared to warmer years.
Grapes: 100% Sangiovese (specifically Sangiovese Grosso).
Aging: The wine is aged in traditional large Slavonian oak barrels (botti) for three years, followed by further refinement in the bottle. This method avoids the heavy influence of small barriques, preserving the wine's natural finesse.
