A premium unaged fruit brandy (eau-de-vie) produced by the Distillerie Purkhart in Austria. Translated as "Blossom of the Apricot," it is celebrated for capturing the concentrated essence of the Klosterneuburger apricot, a variety famous in the Wachau region of the Danube Valley.
Nose: Intense, delicate floral bouquet with notes of white flowers and ripe, juicy apricot.
Palate: A soft, pure expression of apricot. Critics often describe it as possessing flavors so vivid they are "almost chewable". It carries secondary notes of spice, earth, and licorice.
Finish: Long and elegant, transitioning from fruit to a clean, slightly bitter, and earthy finish reminiscent of apricot skin.
Ingredients: Made from 100% pure apricot distillate with no added sugar.
Production: It takes more than 9 pounds of apricots to produce a single 750ml bottle (or roughly 4.5 lbs for a 375ml bottle). The fruit is double-distilled in traditional pot stills, using only the "heart" of the distillation for the final spirit.
Suggested Uses: Neat: Served as a classic digestif after dinner or in cocktails.
French 75 Riff: Adds robust aromatics to sparkling wine and gin.
Stirred Drinks: Pairs exceptionally well with Cocchi Americano Bianco.
