Chateau-Laffitte-Carcasset Saint Estèphe 2016
|Region||France, Bordeaux, St. Estephe|
Situated on the gravel plateau of Saint-Estèphe, this estate has produced a richly structured wine with fine tannins and dense black fruits. The 70% Cabernet Sauvignon offers black-currant flavors and acidity plus plenty of firm tannins for aging. Drink the wine from 2024.
The 2016 Laffitte-Carcasset feels a little ham-fisted on the nose compared to its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with quite supple tannin, well balanced with fine acidity. Almost Stellenbosch-like on the finish with hints of liquorice and fynbos coming through with aeration. Fine. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London.
