A rare, single-vintage anomaly born out of extreme hardship. Due to devastating spring frosts and subsequent rot in the Loire Valley, winemaker Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau lost a massive portion of his crop. Instead of bottling his legendary, individual vineyard cuvées like Silex, Pur Sang, Buisson-Renard, and Les Monts-Damnés, he made the historic decision to blend the best remaining fruit from all his top parcels into one single wine.
Aroma & Palate: Brimming with citrus peel, lemongrass, gooseberry, elderflower, and an intense "green snap" of fresh mint and capsicum.
Minerality: Deeply structured around the signature Dagueneau flint, chalky limestone, and salty minerality.
Cellaring Potential: While it is tight and restrained in its youth, wine critics suggest giving it 5 to 6 years to open up, with the potential to age beautifully for 15+ years.
The Classification: Because the blend crosses separate regional appellation boundaries, it cannot legally be labeled as Pouilly-Fumé or Sancerre. It is modestly designated as a Vin de France (VdF).
The Style: 100% Sauvignon Blanc. It marks a return to a cooler, classic Loire profile featuring intense, taut, and laser-focused energy with a lower ABV of roughly 12%.
Aging: It was aged on its lees for 10 months in custom oak barrels and demi-muids. This gives it a texturally rich, svelte mid-palate that perfectly counterbalances its sharp acidity.
Food Pairings: Outstanding alongside oily or meaty fish (like roasted salmon or sea bass), fresh oysters, white meats with light herb sauces, and green salads.
