The Timorasso “Ça Va Sans Dire” from Cascina Baricchi is crafted from vines planted in the 1950s. It is aged for more than eight years in old oak casks before bottling. The 2016 is simply superb on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet offering up a vibrant blend of lemon, passion fruit, beeswax, lime peel, a beautiful base of salty soil, wild fennel, dried flowers, and a lovely touch of savory elements in the upper register. On the palate, the wine is deep, bright and zesty, with a full-bodied, complex and impeccably balanced format, superb depth of fruit at the core and a long, precise and soil-driven finish. This is an utterly stunning bottle of Timorasso that is fresh as a daisy and easily has another decade of life ahead of it.
