Les Ursules - 100% Pinot Noir from the .9 hectare lieu-dit of Les Ursules. The first vintage bottling of this wine was available in 2014. From a 0.9-hectare parcel of Pinot Noir with vines averaging 35 years of age. 1st press juice only, hand harvested and crushed by foot and fermented using indigenous yeast. Aged for 28 months on the lees in stainless steel. zero dosage.
Cédric Bouchard had a rapid rise to Champagne stardom. Having only started his label in 2000 after a stint as a sommelier in Paris, he quickly earned a reputation as one of Champagne’s most talented young wine producers and was awarded the title of Champagne’s finest winemaker for the year 2008 by the Gault Millau.
The 2020 Blanc de Noirs Les Ursules is classy, elegant and supremely polished. Sweet floral and spice notes open first, followed by a burst of red-toned Pinot fruit. Rose petal, cinnamon, dried cherry, mint and orange peel develop, filling out the layers in style. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off of this. No dosage. Disgorged: April 2024.
