All of our wines are Estate grown but this selection benefits from all of our vineyard sites; it does have, however, consist of a high percentage of the original plantings from 1976 and 1989. Large berries and clusters contribute to its great acidity and depth.

The 2020 Chardonnay The Estate Vineyard opens with pretty aromatics. It's hard to get past the angular contours though. Whether that is attributable to a lack of light, lower ripeness of the lower of the lower amount of oak Hansel opted to use in 2020 is hard to say, but the creaminess typical of these wines is just not there.
