Pale colour because the nature and impregnations of casks. Nervous, fruity and slightly iodised, but free from wood-astrengency. Subtle and long in the mouth. Timid, it needs time to open, its delicate elegance has to be relished. An appearance of fragility behind a fabulous length. To be preferably consumed cool (14 to 15°C) as an aperitif or as a pleasant evening's companion.

The first whiffs don't uncover much; aeration produces little other than a faint trace of linseed oil. The palate entry is grainy, off-dry and moderately oily; by midpalate the mildly honeyed core flavor displays some elegance, but there's not enough finesse here to justify the hefty price. Finishes with a burnt toast flavor. - P.P.
