A blend of 90% Sangiovese with 10% Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, and Colorino, Piemaggio’s flagship Chianti Classico ferments spontaneously in stainless steel during a 3 ½ week maceration, and spends two years aging in a combination of concrete tanks and previously used wooden casks—mainly 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak, with some 500-liter French oak employed as well.
Tasting notes: This wine is the authentic interpretation of a Chianti Classico, with an intense ruby color with burgundy reflects with the age. Pleasant notes of violet flowers and dry cherry on the nose. The taste is intense and persistent.
Serve with: Pasta dishes, typical Tuscan cold cuts, roasted meat and semi dried cheeses.

The 2019 Chianti Classico Le Fioraie is a powerful, old-school wine. Bright red fruit, cedar, tobacco, white pepper and dried herbs abound, all framed by incisive tannins that give the wine shape as well as energy. It's the sort of wine that is not very common in Chianti Classico these days. Readers need to be prepared for a bright, acid-driven Chianti Classico built on super- classic lines.
