Paumanok Dry Rosé 2015
|Appellation||North Fork of Long Island|
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Dry Rosé is a blend of 45% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, dry and coming in at 12% alcohol. This is a terrific pink, perhaps even better than last year's. It's a bit less herbaceous than last year's version and perhaps more powerful, too. Gripping on the finish, this is fresh, solidly built and it lingers nicely. Dry and serious, this is a great red wine substitute in warmer weather and a terrific value that mingles fruit, freshness and power perfectly. I bet it will hold a few years, too--not that I see much point to doing so. P.S. I liked the atmospheric, pretty, but never gaudy label, too.
Wine EnthusiastWhile delicate peach and berry aromas are subdued on the nose, crisp raspberry flavor exhilarates on the palate of this cutting, light-footed wine. Dry and refreshingly mineral, it's the perfect summer quaffer either with food, or just sipped on the porch.
