BurghoundAn admirably fresh nose combines notes of citrus and white peach with those of pear, acacia blossom and a whisper of wood toast. The opulent yet reasonably precise middle weight plus flavors possess excellent mid-palate density thanks to the abundant dry extract that coats the mouth and buffers the firm core of citrus-tinged acidity that shapes the clean and classy finale where a hint of bitter lemon appears. Note that at least a moderate amount of patience will be required. 91-94
Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Canet didn't quite seem to match the complexity of the Truffières when I tasted it at the domaine. It is nicely detailed but at least at the moment, has not developed the personality. The palate is fresh and detailed, and here it compensates for the aromatics with lovely white peach and fresh pear notes, gradually fanning out with a long and saline finish, as well as a particularly extended aftertaste. This has great potential. 91-93
