Domaine Tollot-Beaut Beaune Clos du Roi 2011
|Appellation||Cote de Beaune|
Wine SpectatorA tight, linear style, with floral, black cherry and mineral flavors underscored by a steely structure. Balanced, but needs time. Smoke and spice notes dance on the finish. Best from 2017 through 2030. 40 cases imported.
Wine AdvocateTasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Beaune Clos du Roi 2011 from Nathalie Tollot has an attractive bouquet with slightly darker fruit than its peers, but there is satisfactory presence and vigor, revealing subtle scents of blackberry, raspberry and violet. The palate is medium-bodied with fine weight and extraction, the acidity nicely judged with good density on the saline finish that still retains some wood to be subsumed. Give this wine two or three years.
