Dark bronze in color with golden rim. Pungent nutty aromas and smooky wood background in the nose. Rich flavours of bitter chocolate, walnuts and baked chestnuts. This Oloroso wine has an intense, concentrated aftertaste, lightened by a tangy acidity. Serve with dried fruits and cured cheeses. Ideal with game, ossobucco and other rich meat dishes. It is also a perfect digestif.

Wine AdvocateIf you are looking for a dry sherry made in a slightly more oxidized style, the non-vintage Dry Oloroso Don Nuno Solera Reserva is your choice. Again, a nuttiness (in this case, walnuts) intermixed with a hint of Chinese black tea combine with salty, caramelized flavors make for a delicious glass of sherry.

Wine SpectatorThis Sherry has a succulent edge, with date and ganache hints weaving around dry notes of walnut, buckwheat and poppy seed. The long, smoky finish lets the walnut edge play out, ending on the drier side of the spectrum. Drink now. 1,000 cases imported.

Wine EnthusiastOpens with a wonderful set of nutty, dry aromas along with pit fruits like nectarine, apricot and peach. The palate is a cacaphony of toasty, peppery flavors sweetened by caramel and brown sugar. It has a fine feel and balance, and then finishing notes of browned butter and sautéed mushroom. Delicious oloroso.

International Wine CellarLight red-brown. Big, nutty, roasted coffee nose. Nicely balanced, richer than the Emperatriz. Nice drinking. 87 Points Gerry Dawes in IWC Issue 57 Nov/Dec '94 - Tanzer
